#time4estonia PEALINN

Today we’re heading to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia
PEALINN = PEA+LINN = head+city = capital

Did you know that Tallinn was first mentioned in 1219?
And its Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe (UNESCO Heritage site!)?
A walk in Tallinn is like walking through the Estonian history.

The capital is a home for a third of Estonia’s population (what is Estonia’s population?) and the city has welcomed tourists all over the world filling the cobbled streets of Old Town with people taking selfies, sitting at the cafes, admiring Estonian handicraft, visiting museums and galleries, going to the concerts, walking at the seafront…
But now, suddenly, it’s eerily empty.
Like the time has stopped…
Stopped to offer us an opportunity to see Tallinn in an unusually quiet way.
