An estimated 15 000-20 000 Estonian citizens live in the UK, about 3 000-5 000 of them in London. The most active communities are based in London, Bradford and Leicester. The London Estonian Society is the oldest one being established in 1921. There is an Estonian School, Estonian Houses in London, Bradford and Leicester and the Association of Estonians in Great Britain. Once a month the newspaper “Eesti Hääl” is published.
It is possible to study Estonian as an elective through the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (SSES) at the University College London. With support and help of the Estonian Embassy, the Estonian School in London opened in 2009, which offers supplementary Estonian-language education to children.

The purpose of BECC UK has been to offer a communication network and cooperation platform for Estonian and British enterprises. Unfortunately, at the moment BECC UK is not active, but if you would like to keep up to date with the Estonian branch please visit: http://www.becc.ee
