Passport renewal for a child over the age of 12 and for an adult

Passport renewal application for a child over the age of 12 and for an adult can be submitted in the following ways:

  • via the self-service portal;
  • by post (by sending the application directly to Tallinn, Estonia);
  • at the embassy.
APPLYING VIA THE SELF-SERVICE PORTAL

If it has been less than 6 years since the last passport application and the person has not since reached the age of 12, one can easily renew the documents via the self-service portal (requires a valid ID-card and PIN-codes).

If the child is now over the age of 12 and has not given their fingerprints previously, an application can only be submitted at the embassy (please see below for instructions). The child will need to be present in order to provide fingerprint images.

APPLYING BY POST

If it has been less than 6 years since the last passport application and the person has not since reached the age of 12, one can submit the application by post.

In order to apply by post, one would need to prepare and complete the following:
