FM Tsahkna: We must act more quickly and do more to help Ukraine

“The decision of the Estonian government to increase its military aid to Ukraine by €25 million demonstrates to Ukraine that we are a solid partner and we are showing an example. Now is the time for quicker and more extensive action. It is our duty to ensure that Ukraine has the tools to defend its sovereignty and secure victory. This is an issue of European security,” Tsahkna said. “Ukraine must be able to reject any agreement that it does not agree with.”

“The government’s decision on Thursday to send 10,000 artillery shells and 750,000 food packs from the Estonian Defence Forces to Ukraine by 1 April, and provide Ukraine with €100 million worth of Estonia’s defence industry production is a clear demonstration that Estonia and Europe remain committed to responding to Ukraine’s needs,” Tsahkna said.

“Together we must boost Ukraine’s position and exert even more pressure on Russia. The stakes are high and every moment counts,” Tsahkna said.
