Inspired by liberty and the landscapes surrounding the Baltic Sea this piano recital explores the compositions of three major female composers from Estonia (Ester Mägi), Latvia, Poland, and Lithuania. A programme of piano music that embodies their indomitable spirit and resilience essential in keeping a national spirit of the Baltic peoples alive. Working in spite of the restrictions of an oppressive regime, these composers ignited the flame of music that would in turn be a symbol of a new independent Baltic culture.
