Estonia opens honorary consul’s office in Cardross, Scotland

On Wednesday 15 June, Estonian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Viljar Lubi opened Estonia’s Honorary Consul’s Office in Cardross near Glasgow.

The Estonian Honorary Consul in Cardross as well as in the councils of Argyll and Bute, Dumfries and Galloway, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, West Dunbartonshire, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, Highlands, Renfrewshire and Stirling and in Glasgow is entrepreneur Philip Graeme Lawson Barlow.

Ambassador Viljar Lubi said Scotland needed no introduction in Estonia. “Everyone in Estonia knows where it is. At the same time, there is a great deal more we could learn about Scotland and the surrounding areas of its business hub Glasgow. With Philip’s help, we can learn more and establish closer ties in business, culture and other areas. Friendship connects people. In Philip, Estonia has a great new friend in Scotland and it is his mission to support this friendship in every way.”

Guests of the formal opening ceremony included members of the Glasgow City Council, Scottish businessmen and cultural representatives, Estonians in Glasgow and Estonia’s honorary consuls in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
