Dive into the profound emotional depths of Arvo Pärt’s Passio, a soul-stirring telling of the crucifixion of Christ rich in spiritual resonance and a stark, captivating intensity. Perceptive shifts in Scarlatti’s Stabat Mater to that of the Mother of God grieving at the foot of the cross. Ten short movements form a continuous narrative sequence that flows from suffering to compassion to burning love and, finally, an impassioned invocation of the glory of heaven.
